Preparation Instructions

To prepare Tryptic Soy Agar, follow these simple steps:

  1. Suspend 40.0g of Tryptic Soy Agar in one liter of deionized or distilled water.
  2. Mix thoroughly and heat with frequent agitation until boiling.
  3. Boil the solution for 1 minute.
  4. Dispense into appropriate tubes or flasks.
  5. Sterilize in the autoclave at 121°C (15 lbs.) for 15 minutes.

This preparation ensures that the medium is free from contamination and ready for use in microbial studies.

Appearance and Storage

The dehydrated medium appears as a free-flowing yellowish powder. Once prepared, it takes on a yellowish transparent gel form, indicating successful preparation.
