Description
Listeria Enrichment Broth Base Granules with Nalidixic Acid and Acriflavine
Enhance Your Listeria Detection Efficiency
The Listeria Enrichment Broth Base Granules are specifically formulated for optimal second-step enrichment of Listeria species in various microbiological testing environments. By adding nalidixic acid and acriflavine, this product transforms into LB1 or LB2, meeting GB standards for enhanced detection capabilities.
Key Components for Effective Enrichment
This broth base consists of several critical components that promote robust growth and isolation of Listeria:
- Pancreatic Digest of Casein: 5.0 g/L
- Polyvalent Peptone: 5.0 g/L
- Yeast Extract: 5.0 g/L
- Sodium Chloride: 20.0 g/L
- Disodium Hydrogen Phosphate: 12.0 g/L
- Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate: 1.4 g/L
- Esculin: 1.0 g/L
The final pH is maintained at 7.3 ± 0.1 at 25°C, ensuring an optimal environment for microbial growth.
Directions for Use
To prepare the broth, suspend 49.4 g in 1 liter of distilled water. Autoclave the mixture at 121°C for 15 minutes to ensure sterility.
For LB1 solution, add 5.0 mg of nalidixic acid and 3.0 mg of acriflavine to 225 mL of the prepared medium. For LB2 solution, incorporate 4.0 mg of nalidixic acid and 5.0 mg of acriflavine to 200 mL of the medium.
Reliable and Efficient Microbiological Testing
Utilizing the Listeria Enrichment Broth Base significantly enhances Listeria detection in food safety testing, clinical diagnostics, and environmental monitoring. The combination of specific nutrients and selective agents like nalidixic acid and acriflavine effectively suppresses competing flora, allowing for the selective growth of Listeria species. This makes it an essential product for laboratories focused on food microbiology and public health safety.
